An iPad – the newest mobile/tablet computer “Multi-Touch screen” (Apple, 2010) “Thin and Light” - 1.5 pounds & 0.5 inch thin (Steve Jobs, CEO. Apple) Highly Efficient in performing these tasks “Up to 10 Hours of Battery Life” Browsing eBooks emails Games Videos music (Furfie, 2010) “Game changer” “Make-or-break device for the tablet market”
What iPad cannot do (for now) • No inbuilt camera, slot for (Secure Digital) SD card and UBS port • Camera connection kit • “single dock connector” • lacks “real multifactionality” - no multitasking • iPad is not a substitute for laptop, PC, or MacBook • High sales • By the end of 2010 Apple is expected to sell up to five million iPads By Philip Adu

1. Mobility • We are mobile people • Accessing, creating, learning, sharing and storing information • Anywhere • Anytime “Officials [of Seton Hill University] expect that as digital textbooks become available, students can download them totheir iPads rather than carry around books”(Reeger, 2010).

3. Interface interactivity • iPad’s multi-touch screen “So whether you’re zooming in on a map, flicking through your photos, or deleting an email, iPad responds with incredible accuracy. And it does just what you want it to” (Apple, 2010, para.3).
