  2. INTRODUCTION When taking the IELTS speaking test you may be nervous, but there are many tips that will make it easier, build your confidence, and get you the score you need. The Language Gallery has put some key tips here for you:

  3. BUILD YOUR VOCABULARY IELTS speaking test requires you to speak on a topic – and these are common and everyday. It is important that you develop your vocabulary in these are and practise speaking about them. Topics that are common include: education, transport, crime, the internet, sport and recreation, tourism and travel, the environment, and advertising and retail.

  4. USE ENGLISH LEARNING APP In the lead-up to the Speaking test, make sure you take the time to practice speaking English. Use English Learning App like EngVarta where you can practice English with Engvarta Expert on the phone. You can also record your session, so you can listen back and help you improve.

  5. SPEAK CLEARLY Speak clearly and at a natural pace. If you speak too quickly, you may make mistakes or pronounce words incorrectly. Remember, an IELTS examiner won’t penalise you for Speaking with an accent, as long as you pronounce you words clearly and correctly.
