This meeting aims to ensure increased reuse of public data and efficient interaction between the public administration and the private sector. It will discuss the development of e-services and interoperability in Latvia.

Background and the intervention As a result of previous interventions, Latvia has developed large amount of e-services and other elements public services delivery infrastructure (services portal, central and departmental data integrators, departmental data centres etc.) Latvia lagged behind in open data index and system developments separately by institutions and departments did not result in satisfactory interoperability levels Specific Objective 2.2.1. – To ensure increase in the re-use of public data and efficient interaction of the public administration and the private sector

Success stories and challenges (3)Official e-address (Secure Delivery Platform) Concept of official e-address (e-account) for government communication with citizens and businesses. Business to citizens communication and compliance with eIDAS requirements for secure (registered) e-delivery as the next development steps. Multiple means of standardized access to e-account for efficient processing of different deliverables (incl. e-invoices) First phase (state institutions and businesses) is put into production use and use for citizens in pilot use in 2018
Success stories and challenges (4)Machine translation and interdependencies Reusable configurable machine translation components (MT components) developed as a part of Machine translation platform (phase 1) Reusable and configurable/trainable virtual assistance (chat-bot) components will be developed as a part of Machine translation platform (phase 2) MT and chat-bot components will become parts of the open platform of public institutions websites providing platform for websites for at least 60 public institutions by the end of the project Intensive reuse reinforces challenge of interdependencies between the projects
