Hook: statistic about the percentage of kids from Kenwood High that will actually attend college b. thesis: Considering the current economy, high schools should give equal attention to preparing students for college and introducing students to possible trade careers because not all students will thrive in a college setting, there are many high paying trade careers and more students might stay in school if education seemed more relevant to their future. II. Point 1: Not all students thrive a. Topic sentence: High schools advocate the collegiate experience as the only option for having a fulfilling life but this ideology is unfair because not all students thrive in a college setting. 1. Transition sentence: In actuality, attending college might not only be unhelpful for some students but also this experience could even be harmful.
