Presentation Objectives • To describe Florida’s current status in serving students with intellectual disabilities at the postsecondary level. • To review outcome data on students. • To share strategies, materials, and resources developed by the Florida Consortium including • Curriculum Domains and Competencies • STAR model for Person-Centered Planning • UDL module for postsecondary faculty
Existing Florida Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities
FL Postsecondary Programs • All accept special diplomas • Majority of students have ID/DD/dd • Only 2 can provide housing • Serving 192 students for 2013-2014 • Avg. program length of 2.5 years • Matrix forthcoming
Aggregate of FL Students (InD) preparing to complete postsecondary programs 2013-2014 • 54 students preparing to exit • 32 are currently employed (59%)
Aggregate of FL Postsecondary Completers (InD) and Employment Outctomes 2010-2013 • 115 completers • 72 employed upon exit (63%)

Title IV Federal Funding • Postsecondary transition sites may now work towards becoming a Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP) to qualify for Federal Financial Aid (i.e., Pell Grants, Work-Study, Federal Financial Aid) via the Title IV Student Aid Program.
