Electronic Based Distributed Learning • ARNG Soldiers may get paid for finishing certain EBDL courses from the “Approved Course List” while in either an IDT status (Code 41) or equivalent training (Code 21). FTPs and RMA periods cannot be used for compensated EBDL work. • Cdrs at the Separate Detachment level and above must first approve a DA Form 4187 before the Soldier enrolls in a compensable EBDL course, citing availability of funds, and will ensure that such coursework is not done during any other type of training or duty periods. The coursework must be completed, and payment requested, in a given FY. • Soldiers can request pay after successfully finishing an “approved” EBDL course. A minimum of eight hours of EBDL coursework earns a Soldier credit for one IDT period. Cdrs must keep copies of the DA Form 87 or equivalent proof of completion for future audits. A Soldier may perform at most 12 periods of Code 41 or 4 periods of Code 21 annually. • Pay for a completed EBDL course is not retroactive; a cdr must have authorized the coursework NET 6 Aug 2013. Pay must come from MSCs’ existing funds; MSCs have discretion whether or not to use their current funding for this program. • Full details at NCGKO- G3- G3 SOPs- EBDL Guidance and Course Listing 6 Aug 2013
