  8. Your Contact Info Fill out index card with: • Full Name, Nickname • Grade • Birthday • Two facts and one lie about you.

Student InfoPlease answer the following questions on the other side of the card: • What is the most interesting fact about you? • What are you passionate about? • What is your biggest fear? • What is your most embarrassing moment? • What is the weirdest thing to ever happen to you? • What is your greatest accomplishment?

  10. Class Expectations • We follow ALL school rules! • Tardy Policy • Restroom Policy • Evaluation/Assessment • Late Work • Clean up/ Stewardship • SERIOUS Approach • Refer to Syllabus with Expectations for detailed information about each classroom policy.

Three Simple Rules: • 1) Follow the Respect Policy- Respect everyone & everything. • 2) Work on ART from bell to bell. • 3) Engage yourself and be productive.You are responsible for the quality of your experience in this class; the more you engage yourself, the more you will enjoy it. If you’re ever lost or have questions, please ask, or come see me any time outside of class!

Rock… • Interesting fact: I have relatives I don’t even know who live in Japan! • Passions: art, photography, music, food, anything creative • Biggest Fear: being struck by lightening • Embarrassing: tripping up the stairs! or finding a typo in a presentation or email • Weirdest incident: changing teaching assignments with a day’s notice • Greatest accomplishment(s): earning a degree & starting my family

  16. Photography Homework • Due Next class: Bring a photo, in any format, that you took this summer.Either make a print, or email the file (med. JPEG, 150kb or less) to carynrock@gmail.com • Put your name, period and a title for the photo in the subject.

  17. Painting Assignment • Draw and shade a sphere using the oil pastels or color pencils • Demonstrate your knowledge of value & color: 1) make a value scale with at least 8 values2) illustrate the main color schemes:primary, secondary, intermediate, warm, cool, analogous, split-compliment • Advanced students, think about what you would like to focus on this year, and make a list of proposed projects you are interested in completing.

  18. Art 1 Assignment Draw the following on the provided piece of paper: 1) Hand 2) SELF Portrait 3) Cityscape- a landscape of a city 4) Design Include name, date & period
