  1. Eric Gilbert of Deerfield, Illinois - Charitable Causes Eric Gilbert of Deerfield, Illinois has a special place in his heartfor helping those in need. In the spring of 2014, he founded the Lay-It-In for Leukemia organization in Bloomington, IL. The organization’s first event was a ‘2 vs. 2’ basketball tournament that attracted many of his fellow college students and neighboring community.

  2. Eric Gilbert of Deerfield, ILis an avid sports fan, having grown up playing basketball, baseball, and soccer since childhood. His love for sports went beyond the field; in high school, Eric was the sports editor for the school paper, Deerprints. At Illinois Wesleyan University, where he currently studies, he is also the sports editor of The Argus, the school’s official newspaper. Sports Writer

  3. Eric Gilbert of Deerfield, Illinois is the youngest of three boys in a very close family. Since childhood, he has always looked up to his elder brothers for support and encouragement. The extended Gilbert family is a large one, and Eric is also close to his parents,brothers,grandparentsad cousins. Love for Family Hard Worker For most of his young life, Eric Gilbert of Deerfield, IL has had to work hard to accomplish his dreams.He combines his talents with astrong work ethic and perseverance, whether in the classwork or on the athletic field. “Nothing worth having comes easy,” he has written. “And for that I am a better person.”

He has established himself as a dedicated student, maintaining a 3.3 GPA, and hardworking athlete, as a starter and leader on the university’s soccer team. Eric is also the Sports Editor of the school newspaper, The Argus,where he created the first “Fantasy Sports” column.
