In a longer paper, it could be longer.
HOW DO I DEVELOP A THESIS STATEMENT? • Decide on the topic. • Ask questions about the topic • Narrow to the primary question—focusing on the basic point • The answer is your working thesis.
A Possible Formula • State the topic • + the arguable assertion or opinion • + (for, as, because, since, due to) reasons or supporting arguments • = Working Thesis
