  2. Open Source Hardware • Universal and free access to the design or blueprint of a book scanner. • Created as a result of an ‘Open Collaboration’ among a group of loosely affiliated individuals work towards a common goal: an affordable, effective book scanner.

  4. Where do Libraries Fit In? • Particularly Public Libraries • Already a Focus for community learning and creativity. • Increasing numbers of hackerspaces, makerspacesand fablabs nationally and globally. • E.g. South East Maker Space
