Ocean Dumping Ban Act • Federal regulation overseen by the EPA • Adopted in 1988 but started being enforced in 1992 • Amends the Ocean Dumping Act • Banned all sewage and industrial-waste dumping offshore
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) • Federal program; administered by EPA • Adopted in 1970 • Requires all federally funded development projects to go through an evaluation of potential environmental impacts
