Appropriate Attire Appropriate clothing and personal etiquette are equally important in the classroom, at home, restaurants and other public events.
What to Wear FEMALES Ladies! Ladies! Low, comfy flip-flops and loafers are NOT dressy enough for semi-formal occasions. Business Suit w/Skirt or Dress Pants

Table Setting GuideBASIC PLACE SETTING A great trick to help you remember the order, left to right for a basic table setting is to just picture the word “FORKS.” • F for Fork • O for Plate (the shape) • Right of Plate • K for Knife • S for Spoon
BASIC PLACE SETTING continued Other things to know: • Knife blades always face the plate • Napkins go to the left of the fork, or on the plate • Bread and butter plate and knife are optional

Table Setting GuideOTHER THINGS TO REMEMBER: PROPER EATING • Chew with closed mouth • No talking with food in mouth • No slurping, finger licking, belching or grooming/place accessories under table or chair • Pass food, salt, and pepper to the right PROPER POSTURE • No leaning or elbows on the table • Gentlemen wait for Ladies before sitting, standing • or leaving the table • HAND FOOD- It is perfectly acceptable to use your hands to eat: • breads • ‘hors doers (cheese & crackers, chicken wings, just to name a few) • other finger foods (tacos, mini-burgers, egg rolls, just to name a few)
