  2. ASSESSMENT • Glaucoma: intraocular fluid pressure(IOP) • Population at risk: >40 yr. old; black > white, medical history • Types -Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) -Angle closure glaucoma (acute glaucoma closed-angle glaucoma)

  3. Clinical Manifestations • Primary open-angle glaucoma -gradual onset -optic disc changes -peripheral visual field changes • Closed-angle glaucoma -sudden onset of symptoms -pain -nausea and vomiting -colored halos around lights -other vision changes

  4. Diagnostic Tests • Tonometry • Perimetry • Gonioscopy • Optic nerve imaging
