COMMON PRACTICE GUIDANCE SHEET NO 3 Site Set up A well planned site set up is critical for the safe undertaking of the works on a project. The provision of good welfare facilities, first aid, safe access and egress including vehicle/pedestrian segregation, fire and emergency procedures are not only essential the health and wellbeing of the workforce but all others that may visit the site. Below gives an example of a site logistics map setting out the locations of these requirements Suitable and sufficient numbers of toilets and wash basins must be made available for the workforce , which must be regularly cleaned and maintained • Suitable and sufficient seating with facilities for heating food and water must be made available for the workforce, which must be regularly cleaned and maintained Suitable and sufficient numbers of first aid facilities and clearly identified first aiders and must be available on site.
