  8. You do amazing things • Tell people how we got here. • Brooks Javins – the great gas historian. • Be careful of “Natural gas speak” when talking to your neighbors and the public. • Don’t assume people know terms like • Drilling on air • Flow back • Casing • Drilling Mud

  9. Public Relations Effort • Start internally with staff. • Explain your mission to staff members. • Don’t Hide in the bomb shelter when something goes wrong. Get out in front of it. • In West Virginia, we get things out of the ground that power the country. The public is used to accidents and understand the risks. (Coal and Natural Gas) • Tell people what you are doing about safety.

Advertising • JOBS……Use Radio to find those CDL Drivers. • Tell people up front you will require a drug test. • Make your employees feel good about who they work for. • Have an on-going 52 week public relations/advertising plan if you can afford one. • Concentrate and own one medium. Don’t try to fill too many cups. • Nothing works in advertising except what you say times how many times you say it.
