  1. Database evolution onthe timescale of the SL3/Phase-II Upgrade Elizabeth Gallas – Oxford .ATLAS Computing Upgrade Editorial Workshop July 23-24, 2012

  2. Apologies and caveats Some statements here reflect preliminary discussions with current database coordinators and DBAs. Some opinions expressed are my own … may evolve after discussions here and in the coming weeks. Elizabeth’s view of ATLAS data: E.Gallas - DBs in Upgrade 2

  3. PVSS: sliding window As agreed many moons ago: • we guarantee to house at least the last 12 months of PVSS data online – “sliding window” • All PVSS data is maintained offline • Its time to slide the window forward: • Benefits: • Reduces volume in ATONR (PVSS DB size < 3TB) • Faster recovery in case of problems  Wednesday 27-June as of 14:00 ATONR: deletion of PVSS data older than 12 months E.Gallas - DBs in Upgrade 3
