  4. Parents’ & Families’Roles & Responsibilities • Support and encourage • Check in with your students • Know the campus and make suggestions • Make appointments for students • Log on to their ASAP • Call professors or advisors • Do their homework for them

  6. Supplemental Instruction (SI) • SI targets very difficult core courses. For a complete list of SI supported courses visit our website at http://www.utsa.edu/trcss • An SI leader is a successful, experienced peer who will hold up to 3 study groups every week. Attendance is voluntary and students are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible • SI students learn how to learn as they learn what to learn • Students who participate in SI groups consistently earn higher grades

  8. Math Assistance Program (MAP) • Peer study groups for math • College Algebra • Pre-Calculus • Students can attend any number of available sessions each week • Session schedules are available at the JPL Tutoring Center

  9. Academic Coaching Students can get personalized help in learning effective study strategies. Note Taking Test Taking Reading Time Management Memory Strategies Students should call the TRC for an appointment at (210) 458-4694

Special Topic Workshops • Learn college success strategies • Work in collaboration with others • Topics include note taking skills, test preparation and taking strategies, memory boosting strategies, time management, overcoming procrastination, and more! • Times and locations posted on the TRC website www.utsa.edu/trcss
