  1. Scholar Start 12/9/13Generals Can: Reevaluate what they know about the acceleration formula on an IKTB quiz Solve the following problems to practice before your quiz! 1. What is the acceleration of a 7 kg mass being pulled by a 56 N force? 2. A motorcycle traveling at 25 m/s accelerates at a rate of 7.0 m/s2 for 6.0 seconds. What is the final speed of the motorcycle?

  2. During the IKTB Quiz • Voice level zero • Do all your own work • Fill in the IKTB boxes! • Try, even if you think you don’t know! • As you finish, turn them in to the blue organizer. • Then grab the individual assignment off the counter to begin working silently until everyone else is finished.

  3. After Quiz-Working on your study guide • Work independently on your study guide until everyone is finished. • Voice Level Zero.

  4. What’s Due: -Calculating Acceleration -Airplane Crash worksheet -Seatbelt Persuasive Letter- change the title to say “Paul Newman Persuasive-Final Copy” to show you’re finished. In the Near Future: Bring in egg cartons and Kroger bags if you have them! (12/10/13) Motion and Forces Unit Test (December 13th) Fall Final Exam- study guide will be available (December 18th) I.A.#2 Shooting for a 65%! (December 20th) A race to the finish line! Friction: • Rolling Friction: the force resisting the motion when a body (such as a ball, tire, or wheel) rolls on a surface. • Sliding Friction: the kind of friction that is caused by two surfaces that slide against each other • Fluid Friction: occurs between layers within a fluid that are moving relative to each other • Static Friction: is the friction that exists between two or several solid objects that are not moving relative to one another A fluid can be a GAS or a LIQUID
