LET ITRIP! By: Charlie Kelley In Ms. Foote’s Beautiful First Grade Class
Research Question: Which type of Beyblade® will spin the longest? On which surface will the Beyblades® spin the longest?
Hypothesis: • I predict Tornado El Drago can wobble while spinning on a fuzzy and smooth, but not strong surface. • I predict that the regular type of Beyblade® can spin longer than the other types of Beyblades® on every surface! • I predict that the wide Beyblade® will spin the next longest.
Materials and Equipment • Regular Beyblade®. • Wide Beyblade®. • Tall & Thin Beyblade®, also known as a Tornado Beyblade®. • Bowl • Surfaces: pillow, sleeping bag, wooden floor, Lego® blocks put together (on the side), sidewalk. • Beyblade® Ripper and Cord.
Procedure Repeat this procedure for each surface. Place the surface in the bowl if possible. Secondly, put the Beyblade® on the ripper and strap. Then, let it rip on the surface. Start timing immediately! After that, when it stops, immediately stop the timer. Finally, write down the time and get the next Beyblade® ready. (Use every Beyblade® on each surface).
All Surfaces Time (in seconds) Surface
Soft or Rough Surfaces Time (in seconds) Surface
Conclusions The type of surface matters a lot! The type of Beyblade® did not matter too much. The regular type of Beyblade® spun the longest on the wooden surface. Tornado El Dragodid not wobble while spinning on a fuzzy and smooth, but not strong surface like a pillow or sleeping bag.
