Head Restraint IWG Document: HR-1-6 Head Restraints for Rear Seating Positions Foldable / retractable head restraints in non use position 750 mm above R-point measured along torso line Lowest in use position R R R R • Europe, ECE R-17: • „Non-use position“ clearly recognizable to the occupant as not being included for the use of the head restraint • In Practice: No intermediate position (notch) below 750 mm possible • USA, FMVSS 202 (Draft): • Generate a torso angle difference for the H-point manikin of >10° • or • Return to an “in use” positionautomatically (occupant recognition system needed!!)
