Ⅰ. Introduction 4. Schematic - Key Concepts 4-1. Main PBA – 1(SCX-4500) Main Clock and SSCG • Apply SSCG(Spread Spectrum Clock Generator) on the Main Clock and Video Clock • Main Clock frequency is 10MHz and Video Clock is 19.75MHz. • The SSCG of the main clock has +/-0.6% spread spectrum in orderto reduce EMI. • The SSCG of the video clock part has no spread because of imagequality, but still effective for reducing EMI. Ⅰ. Introduction 4-1. Main PBA – 2(SCX-4500) CPU – Chorus2 • Chorus2(S3C46Q0X) is developed using ARM7TDMI core, 0.18um CMOS standard cell • 1.8V internal, 3.3V external(I/O boundary) Voltage used. • 16bit/32bit RISC architecture and 16bit external data bus. • Image processor included. • On-Chip clock genarator with internal PLL. • Operating frequency 66MHz ( converting 10MHz main clock to 66MHz operating clocl using internal PLL )
Ⅰ. Introduction 4-1. Main PBA – 3(SCX-4500) SDRAM – 8MB * 1ea • SDRAM(Max operating frequency : 133MHz) used and SDRAM has 8MByte memory capacity. • SDRAMs operates 66MHz which is the same as CPU’s operating frequency. • Flash ROM( Nor flash ) has 1MB memory capacity and its access time is max. 70ns. • F/W program code had been stored in the FlashROM when Main PBA assembled , and the program code can be upgraded by user. • When upgrading F/W, never turn off the power until completing upgrade process. • If user turn off the power while upgrading F/W, the program code will be conflicted and the machine will not work. • If above situation occurs, replace the Main PBA. Ⅰ. Introduction 4-1. Main PBA – 4(SCX-4500) • AN44060 is a stepping motor driver IC. • AN44060 has the ability control the output current which gives thesmoothing action to the motor in the starting period. • Platen motor can be driven forward or backward direction and full-step, halt-step, quarter-step resolution by controlling 6 control inputs based on pre-defined control sequence. Ⅰ. Introduction 4-1. Main PBA – 5(SCX-4500) • SCX-4500 drives the engine motor using BLDC Motor. • BLDC Motor includes the motor driver IC and extra circuits for driving the engine motor. • The main board controls only 3 signals (ex. Enable , Ready , CLK) Main Motor Control (BLDC)
Ⅰ. Introduction 4-1. Main PBA – 6(SCX-4500) Fuser Control • SCX-4500 has two heat lamps. • Main controller has two signal to control those two lamps. • At warming up sequence two lamps are turned on. • At printing and ready mode only one lamp is turned on.
Ⅰ. Introduction 4-1. Main PBA – 7(SCX-4500) USB 2.0 • SCX-4500 uses external ISP1582 chip to implement USB 2.0 • ISP1582 uses an extra oscillator – 12MHz
Ⅰ. Introduction 4-2. OPE PBA – 1(SCX-4500) Touch Sensor IC – CY8C21434 • CY8C21434 is PSoC(Programmable SoC) which can be used for many ways. • SCX-4500 uses CY8C21434 as Touch Sensor IC to receive touch key input. • Touch Sensor IC gets touch input through capacitive sensor which are formed by the trace of PCB. • Touch sensing key method uses that Finger Absent/Present makes different capacitance. • The data processed at touch IC are sent to CPU by UART channel as 115200bps speed.
Ⅰ. Introduction 4-2. OPE PBA – 2(SCX-4500) LED Driver - PT6961 Buzzer • PT6961 is a LED Driver IC can control LED matrix. • LED Driver IC received CLK, DATA, ENABLE signal from CPU to control LED. • One IC controls 6x5 LED matrix, the other controls 7x5 matrix • IC also controls key LED like “copies key LED, Reudce/Enlarge key LED, Darkness key LED…, etc.” • Matrix and key LEDs are composed of blue LEDs, Warning LEDs are composed of red LEDs. • OPE has a buzzer to make specific key and alarm sound.

Main PBA – 1(ML-1630) Main Clock and SSCG • Apply SSCG(Spread Spectrum Clock Generator) on the Main Clock. • Main Clock frequency is 10MHz and Video Clock is 19.75MHz. • CPU makes video clock using internal PLL block. • The SSCG of the main clock has +/-0.6% spread spectrum in orderto reduce EMI. • The SSCG of the video clock part has no spread because of imagequality, but still effective for reducing EMI.

Main PBA – 2(ML-1630) CPU – Jupiter4e • Jupiter4e is developed using ARM940T 32-bit RISC embedded processor core • 1.8V power operation, 3.3V tolerant input and bi-directional I/Os. • Image processor included(GDI only). • On-Chip clock genarator with internal PLL. • Operating frequency 75MHz ( converting 10MHz main clock to 75MHz operating clock using internal PLL ) • Built in Flash Memory : 4MBits (128Kx32bits)

Ⅰ. Introduction 4-3. Main PBA – 4(ML-1630) EEPROM • ML-1630 has EEPROM in order to store environmental data, total page count data, dot counter data, etc… • M93C66(4Kbit) EEPROM device is used. • Read/Write operation is activated when the machine states go idle. • While printing, Copying, scanning, EEPROM read/write operation not activated. • Because of above reason, if user turn the power off right after printed page exit, there is no time for writing newer data that results dot count and page count data not updated.
Ⅰ. Introduction 4-3. Main PBA – 5(ML-1630) USB 2.0 • ML-1630 uses external ISP1582 chip to implement USB 2.0, too. • ISP1582 uses an extra oscillator – 12MHz

II. Summary of Product 4-5. SMPS PBA • The output current of 5V and 24V is - 5V : 0.7A - 24V : 1.5A • On the SMPS board, Paper feed sensor exists. • The capacity of one heat lamp is 600W. Main <-> SMPS Connector Heat Lamp1, 2 Connector Paper Feed Sensor AC Input Connector
II. Summary of Product 4-6. HVPS PBA Paper Exit Sensor Main <-> HVPS Connector • HVPS board supply high voltage for developing Process. • High Voltage controlled by PWM signal from CPU. • Paper Exit Sensor exists on HVPS.
II. Summary of Product 5. Cover Open Sensing Two cover open switches are on left side in front of the set. If two switches open, 24VS for DC fan, main motor, polygon motor part of LSU and high voltage of HVPS and LSU 5V are cut off. And LED matrix display “COVER OPEN”. Cut off mechanism is like below. II. Summary of Product 6-1. LUI(SCX-4500) Total matrix of 13X5 LED will make user display (LUI). LUI can do some animation by using different combination of LEDs.

Tech Mode(SCX-4500) • Report Printing • Hold ‘STOP/CLEAR’ key for 4 sec to Print System Data List. • Tech Mode Error Display • Press Power-->Down-->Start-->Up to set Tech Mode. Use the same sequence to change the mode to user mode. • Tech Mode Test • Press Power ->Copies-->ScanTO to go to Data Setup Menu. Following Menu would be displayed after pressing Power ->Copies-->ScanTO key sequence.
