  3. Owls • An order of birds of prey • Solitary and nocturnal • Strigiformes • Hunt small mammals, insects, and other birds, • In all regions of the Earth • Parliament.

Description Of Owls • Large forward-facing eyes and ear-holes. • A hawk-like beak. • A flat face. • Usually have a conspicuous circle of feathers around each eye called a facial disc. • Far-sighted. • Turn their head 135 degreess. • Different sounds to find mates, announcing presence. • The facial disc helps to funnel the sound of prey to their ears. • Owl eggs are usually white and almost spherical.

  5. Behavior Of Owls • Nocturnal • Crepuscular • Much of the owl's hunting strategy depends on stealth and surprise.

  6. Relationship With Humans • Owls have been a feature of falconry for years. • Associated with death and misfortune. • Associated with wisdom and prosperity. • Frequently being companion animals for goddesses.
