  2. What is Java technology and why do I need it? Java is a programming language and computing platform first released by Sun Microsystems in 1995. Itis an object-oriented. An object can take advantage of being part of a class of objects and inherit code that is common to the class. It is fast, secure, and reliable. From laptops to datacenters, game consoles to scientific supercomputers, cell phones to the Internet, Java is everywhere.

  3. Advantages of Java • Java is easy to learn. It was designed to be easy to use and is therefore easy to write, compile, debug, and learn than other programming languages. • Itis platform-independent. One of the most significant advantages of Java is its ability to move easily from one computer system to another. • The ability to run the same program on many different systems is crucial to World Wide Web software. • Ithas powerful development tools like Eclipse SDK and NetBeans which have debugging capability and offer integrated development environment.
