  2. What is a sonnet?

  3. * A poem with 14 lines, usually with an elaborate rhyme scheme * Every other line rhymes * Each line has 10 syllabuls * Has an iambic pentameter of “ta TUM”

  4. What is a haiku?

  5. *A form of Japanese poetry, usually consisting of only three lines *Lines 1 and 3 have 5 syllables *Line 2 has 7 Syllables * Does not rhyme * The topic is easy to figure out

  6. What is a limerick? A five-line poem with a rhyme scheme of aabba; limericks are meant to be funny, with the last line delivering the “punch line”

  8. How to write a limerick: The first, second and fifth lines rhyme with each other and have the same number of syllables (typically 8 or 9).
