CPEN Business & Financial UpdateAllison Travis, Program Director • Corporate Support – Corporate Support invitations sent to 27 Cancer Centers in June 2008 – Corporate Support contributions received to date: $11,000 USD • The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute - $5,000 • Mayo Clinic Cancer Center - $5,000 • Moncrief Cancer Center, UT Southwestern - $1,000 • Special Donations CPEN is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization; gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. CPEN-Canada ChapterGale Turnbull, Chair • January 1, 2008 CPEN-Canada became the first Chapter of CPEN! • Along with many members, CPEN-Canada added a new Survivorship sub-committee to CPEN.
Established a more formal collaboration with the Canadian Cancer Society. CPEN-Canada received a donation from them to support our work.
Goals for 2008-09 • Refresh CPEN-Canada Website • Create stronger alignment and involvement in key national strategies and organizations (e.g., Canadian Partnership Against Cancer and Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology) to further the patient education agenda.
