  4. Listening-discussion task 1 • Discuss the video with your group. • The speaker said that 2 billion (2,000,000,000) people are studying English. What do you think about that? • - Do you think that ‘English mania’ has an overall positive or overall negative effect on the world? • -How has “English mania” affected you personally? • Is English ability an essential skill to succeed in life? • What would you think if suddenly the world had “Chinese mania”?

  5. Joey video • 1. In the first scene, the two characters (Joey and Lockwood) change their emotional tones quickly (from ____ to _____) (i.e., from happy to sad). How do they change? From angry/annoyed to friendly.
