P.3 Overview simplified.
Overview WJ-ND200/300A Calculator includes Time schedule simulator and four Program calculators. Time schedule simulator will calculate expected recording time and required disk space depending on the setup. Program calculator indicates Traffic from camera, Traffic to client, required disk space (GB/Hour), Total recording+viweing IPS and corresponding Max bandwidth according to camera’s resolution, quality, recording frame rate, event frequency, number of viewings and viewing rate. Click program1 to start setup and calculation
Program calculator :M-JPEG Each Program calculator includes three sections such as M-JPEG, MPEG4 and NP472/NS320/NW474. Up to 6 setup modes can be used in each section. If you need more than 6 modes, repeat the procedure and calculate the sum manually. Default setup is shown as follows. Change the parameters according to your requirement. Input desired number of client views/cam and viewing rate within the MAX IPS. Select NP244 for NS202, NF284, NW484. 0 ips means OFF Max PreRec duration is displayed when Cal-J is clicked. Set PreRec duration within the MAX Input number of cameras in each mode Total REC and Viewing IPS is displayed. Max IPS will be displayed when Cal-J is clicked. Set Rec IPS within the MAX JPEG Data size, Traffic from camera, Traffic to client and required GB/Hour will be displayed. Input Event frequency (times/hour) Note: JPEG Max Live viewing rate is decreased when number of the views are more than 4(ND200) or 8(ND300A) as follows. ND300A: 9-16: 5ips, 17-32: 2ips, 33 over: 1ps"., ND200: 5-8: 7ips, 9-16: 3ips, 17 over: 1ips. Please adjust the viewing rate manually as the calculator doesn’t do it automatically.
Program calculator :MPEG4 Input desired number of client views per camera Input Event frequency (times/hour) Max PreRec duration is displayed when Cal-M is clicked. Set PreRec duration within the MAX Input number of cameras in each mode Total REC and Viewing IPS is displayed. Max IPS depending on Resolution, Mode and Bit rate will be displayed when Cal-M is clicked. Traffic from camera, Traffic to client and required GB/Hour will be displayed. Note: MPEG4 MAX IPS depends on the movement and complexity of the subject. Indicated value is based on simple subject and will be less when the subject is more complex.
NP472 type Program calculator :NP472 type Input desired number of client views/cam and viewing rate within the MAX IPS. Input number of cameras in each mode Max PreRec duration is displayed when Cal-3 is clicked. Set PreRec duration within the MAX Total REC and Viewing IPS is displayed. Max IPS depending on Resolution and quality will be displayed when Cal-3 is clicked. JPEG Data size, Traffic from camera, Traffic to client and required GB/Hour will be displayed.
Total Program calculator :Total After calculating M-JPEG, MPEG, NP472 type, click Cal-All. Typical and worst case total traffic and required disk space/hour will be displayed. These data are automatically copied to the Time schedule simulator to calculate total disk space and recording days. Max Bandwidth (Mbps) is also displayed, set parameters so that Total traffic becomes less than Max Bandwidth. ND200 Max Bandwidth is always 48Mbps. When Total traffic exceeds Max bandwidth, back color becomes Red for warning Tip: It is possible to open multiple Program calculators at a time and leave them open while using time schedule simulator. Then you can amend the programs after the simulation without resetting them. Timer schedule simulator To close Program calculator click “X” When you use more than one Program, repeat these steps. Note: ND300A Max bandwidth can be calculated only when using JPEG only or MPEG4 only . Bandwidth for MPEG4/JPEG mix situation is unknown. Max bandwidth in MPEG4 mode is always 100Mbps.
Timer schedule simulator Up to 6 time schedules for Mon-Fri, Sat and Sun, or Daily can be programmed as it is the spec of the recorders. Set the start time, end time, select a program for each time zone, enter the desired recording days or disk space you have planned, then click calculate. Required disk space to achieve your setup or expected recording days will be shown. 2.Set timer and program. Note that there is no error check for the consistency of time. 4. Expected recording time (days) or Required disk space will be displayed. 1.GB/Hour is automatically copied. 3.Input the disk space you have or required Rec days.
Notes: 1. WJ-ND200/300A requires 20% of disk space for system administration. This is handled in the Time schedule simulator. 2. When Saturday or Sunday program is different from Mon-Fri, calculation is based on One-day average. One-day average = (Mon-Fri data x5 + Sat data + Sun data ) / 7 This OK for long term but please note followings When the result is short days for example less than 7 days, actual result depends on the starting day. For example, if you record less on weekends, actual result will be longer by starting on Saturday and shorter by starting on Monday. 3. Max Bandwidth of ND200 is 48Mbps, that of ND300A is as follows Total IPS < 120 : Max Bandwidth 120Mbps Total IPS < 160 : Max Bandwidth 100Mbps Total IPS >= 160 : Max Bandwidth 80Mbps 4. Camera JPEG data size variation is as follows. NP1000 4VGA : +-10% NP244 onward : +-20% NP472 type : Unknown Variations + is applied in worst case result. NP472 type variation is not applied in the calculator. When this type is used, be careful for the variation. 5. Mpeg4 data size is based on 95% of bit rate. (5% is header data) 6. The calculator is based on enough Network speed and PC performance. When network or PC is poor, actual frame rate will be slower and required disk space / hour will be less. 7. JPEG viewing rate is decreased when number of the views are more than 4(ND200) or 8(ND300A) as follows. ND300A: 9-16: 5ips, 17-32: 2ips, 33 over: 1ps"., ND200: 5-8: 7ips, 9-16: 3ips, 17 over: 1ips. Please adjust the viewing rate manually as the calculator doesn’t do it automatically. 8. This calculator does not support MPEG4/JPEG dual streaming mode. In this mode, frame rate and bit rate of MPEG4 becomes about half, and frame rate of JPEG becomes Max 5ips (VGA) or Max10ips (QVGA) Refer i-Pro system design guide for detail. 9. This calculator does not support ASM100 camera direct access mode. When the camera has direct access from ASM100 clients, JPEG frame rate will be shared by the number of accesses. Refer i-Pro system design guide for detail.
Notes: 10. ND300A Max bandwidth can be calculated only when using JPEG only or MPEG4 only . Bandwidth for MPEG4/JPEG mix situation is unknown. Max bandwidth in MPEG4 mode is always 100Mbps.
