(12) An 80-year-old person might have underlying medical conditions that would make reattachment difficult (e.g., congestive heart failure, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, a weakened immune system, or other age-related problems). A person that old would also have more difficulty regenerating nerves and having the brain understand any "rewiring."
