  1. Learning Objective:Students will be able to identify key vocabulary to understand new topics Science: Unit One Do Now: Take out your notebook

  2. Observation • Let’s break the word down • Root Word: Observe

  3. Observation • Is any description or measurement gathered by senses

  4. Key Vocabulary • Hypothesis: an educated guess. Your guess or predication about will happen using (if, then) • Inference: your assumption about an observation • Theory: Logical explanation about observed facts. Has been tested multiple times • Variable: A variable is an object, event, idea, feeling, time period or any other type of category you are trying to measure

  5. Activity: • Take index cards and on the card: • Write the word • Write the definition • Draw a picture • Write it in a sentence

  6. Share out • What is the definition in of a new word in your OWN words • Share the sentence you created

  7. Exit Ticket • How are you feeling about these new words? YES!!!! I GET IT I AM GOING TO BE ABLE TO USE THESE I GET IT BUT I STILL NEED HELP I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANY OF THE WORDS!!! HELP
