Genesis 12:1-3 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation,    and I will bless you;I will make your name great,    and you will be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you,    and whoever curses you I will curse;and all peoples on earth    will be blessed through you.”

  4. Nations (non-Hebrew people) • All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him. Ps 67:2 • All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name. Isaiah 45:22 • The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God. Isaiah 52:10 • Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. Isaiah 60:3

Healing • If it is God’s will for some to remain sick for His glory, where is this class of people in the scripture? • Sickness is a curse (Dt 28:21, 22, 27, 28, 35, 59-61, Lev 26:16, 25) • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.   20. Healing • What Jesus did is available to us (John 14:12, 20:21b) • Healing in O.T., but new covenant is superior • He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases. Mt 8:17 • Jesus showed us (the will of) the Father • How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. Ac 10:38 • Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven • When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Lk 9:1-2 • Instead of bringing scripture down to our level of experience, we need to bring our level of experience up to the level in God’s word.
