  2. Mission Statement • We aim to promote the preservation and protection of life from fire especially in countries throughout the world that are so affected by war, civil unrest or natural disaster that they are unable to contend with the emergency from their own resources or require assistance on humanitarian grounds. We will do this by providing equipment, uniforms, fire appliances and support/training.

  7. Ben Nevis Climb • Some members after taking happy pills decided to climb Ben Nevis and if that was not bad enough they did it in Fire kit –no that was not hard enough either they did it in BREATHING APPARATUS.

  8. Patron • Willie Rennie MP has agreed to become the Patron of the charity and has stated he will do all he can to assist us. • Here is Willie Rennie MP and Director Irene Kerr seeing off Brian, Tam, Jim on the Bosnia mission.

  10. Map of where we have assisted

  11. Where next? • We are planning missions to Bosnia as part of the ongoing project. • Albania also as part of the ongoing project. • Paraguay as part of our 10 year plan. • Argentina as a new project.

  12. The Firefighting/Medical capabilities of Fire Services/Emergency services in affected areas vary but the job remains the same. • “SAVE LIFE AND PROTECT PROPERTY !!!” • IFRA will do all it can to make a difference in any country that needs us

  13. I.F.R.A. • Fire, Rescue and Emergency services have a special bond and many see us as a family who will risk our own lives to save others, we in IFRA try to reinforce that family spirit.

  14. Summary • We started out to try to achieve 1 or 2 appliances at most a year but we have now far exceeded my wildest expectations. This is due to the hard work of both the Management team and the Members, but more needs to be done • Each appliance costs £2500 on average to send and we need a constant source of money.
