  5. Mentoring Youth • Who Should We Choose to Mentor? • Reliable – those who can be trusted. • Excited – those who want to grow. • Authentic – those who are real. • Daring – those who are adventurous • Young – those who are humble and eager

  6. Mentoring Youth • How Do We Mentor Youth? • Let youth watch you as you follow Jesus • Turn mundane moments into teachable moments • Let them learn from your mistakes • Be real and don’t pretend

Mentoring Youth • What are the Guidelines for Mentoring? • Notify a leader of the relationship • Mentor the same sex • Discuss your intentions with their parents • Practise the safety technique: • - Stop and ask if it is a wise activity • - Look to make sure someone is around • - Listen to your gut and the Holy Spirit
