  1. France Olympic: Rowing champion Twigg aiming to retain single sculls title at Olympic 2024 Emma Twigg who is the Tokyo 2020 rowing champion, she has expressed her desire to get back her women's single sculls label at the Franch Olympic. The 36-year-old New Zealander had come out of retirement after finishing fourth consecutively at London 2012. And also at Rio 2016 to triumph in the Japanese capital. She has been selected to attend the final World Cup regatta of this year in Lucerne and the 2023 World Championships in Belgrade. Twigg is committed to being selected for the team for Paris and says her time away from the sport has made her appreciate what she loves doing the most, being in a rowing boat. Twigg is facing stiff competition in the women's single sculls event, with up-and-coming athletes from various countries. Despite this, she remains determined to defend her title at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Her time away from the sport has made her appreciate her passion for rowing even more, and she is making the most of the limited time she has left in the sport. Twigg's second-place finish behind Karolien Florijn at last year's World Championships shows that she is still a strong contender in the discipline. It will be interesting to see how Robbie Manson performs at the national trials after his break from the sport. The New Zealand rower made waves in 2017 when he set the world's best time in the men's single sculls but took an indefinite break in late 2020. The national trials are set to take place in June, and Rowing New Zealand is expected to select additional boats for the Lucerne event and World Championships after the trials.

  2. Paris Olympic: Glover likely to switch disciplines in pursuit of place in Britain's rowing team at Paris 2024 Helen Glover, who won gold medals for Great Britain in rowing at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics, may switch to a different category if she returns to Olympic rowing. Glover has won every medal of her elite career in the coxless pair, but head coach Andrew Randell has suggested that a switch to the women's coxless four may be the best chance of a podium place at the Paris Olympics next year. Glover has dominated the coxless pair discipline at the British Trials with Rebecca Shorten. But Randell told that they will try to build on the crews that won awards last year. And that the team is world champion in the coxless four event. It seems that Helen Glover is open to the idea of switching to the women's coxless four for her potential return to Olympic rowing. Although Glover has enjoyed every medal of her elite career in the coxless pair, Great Britain's head coach Andrew Randell believes that a switch to the coxless four may be the best chance of a podium place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Glover dominated the discipline at the British Trials with Rebecca Shorten, who combined with Heidi Long, Rowan McKellar, and Samantha Redgrave to win Britain's third World Championships title in the event last year. Glover has made it clear that it does not matter to her which boat she is placed in and that she would choose whichever boat goes fastest. It will be a tough road for Glover to earn selection for Paris 2024, with a busy schedule of competitions leading up to the event. She will need to perform well at the European Championships in Slovenia in May, as well as at two World Cup events and the World Championships in Serbia. The latter event will serve as a qualifying competition for boats hoping to compete at the Olympics in 2024. Glover recently competed at the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she narrowly missed out on a medal with partner Polly Swann in the coxless pairs, finishing in fourth place.

  3. Summer 2024 Games: GB Rowing Team among the first to try out the Olympic Paris course In an invitational regatta called Para-Row to Paris, the British Rowing Para Squad had the opportunity to test out the Olympic Paris course. Paralympian Benjamin Pritchard shares their experience, while the rest of the rowing world focused on the renowned Henley Royal Regatta course. The British Rowing Para Squad participated in the Para-Row to Paris Regatta, a two-day invitational event that gave crews the chance to test out the Paris 2024 course. The squad had four opportunities to compete on the track and try out different race plans in preparation for the upcoming European and World Championships. The venue is one of the first Olympic and Paralympic venues to be completed, making this visit an incredibly special opportunity that the team can leverage to their advantage come Games time. The layout of the Paris 2024 rowing course at the Vaires-sur-Marne venue was reported to be similar to Eton Dorney, with the boat house located at the finish end and the lake stretching into the distance. The area around the venue also features a country park with cycling and walking paths. Even during the warm-up and cool-down periods of the Para-Row to Paris Regatta, athletes couldn't resist the urge to watch the racing from the boat park, suggesting it could be the prime viewing spot during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
