Parasitism is the symbiosis relationship between organisms where one organism is harmed and the other benefits. • On the picture a tick was sucking the blood out of the organism to get food but the organism the tick was taking food from was being harmed because it is now vulnerable to contract a disease. (the slide before) What Parasitism:
Examples : • A tick sucking the blood out of the dog . • Worms in a cat’s body which are infecting it in a bad way. • A tapeworm in a human’s body . • Fleas all over a new born puppy’s body .
Relate it today : • A lot of animals are getting hurt and killed because of parasites. • Many humans are getting infected with parasites and are getting weird diseases. • Doctors aren’t able to figure out how to care for these diseases , because new ones are coming up every day .
How do you stop it ? • To put on bug spray. • To bathe daily. • To take care of your body. • Don’t go to places that might have a high rate of parasites. • Go to the doctors and gets checked for parasites at least once a month.
