Once a file is on your S Drive... • You can access it from anywhere. • Essentially, you "map the S drive" from your personal PC/Laptop Instructions for all computers: http://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/service-guides/file-storage-and-sharing/accessing-myfiles-from-anywhere.html Instructions for Windows PCs: http://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/service-guides/file-storage-and-sharing/accessing-myfiles-from-anywhere/getting-started-by-accessing-ubfs/accessing-ubfs-from-windows-computers/using-ub_secure-wireless/accessing-from-wireless-using-a-mapped-drive.html
Mapping the S drive to your personal PC/Laptop • On your PC, in "Computer" or any file view, Under Tools, select "map a network drive" • Pick any drive letter (S usually works) • For the Folder, type: \\itorg.ad.buffalo.edu\ubfs\myfiles\1st_letter_ubitname\2nd_letter_ubitname\UBITName (where UBITName is your UBITName). For example, if your UBITName is jdoe, you would enter:\\itorg.ad.buffalo.edu\ubfs\myfiles\j\d\jdoe.
