  1. LESSON 11 GOD CALLED THE NOT THINGS AS THOUGH THEY WERE! WE ARE ALL SONS OF GOD BUT ONCE WE WERE NOT

  2. God Called the “NOT” things • 1 Cor 1:28 • He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things - and the things that are NOT – to nullify the things that are. • God created the world by his spoken word. God spoke each day of creation, and it was! Gen chapter 1.

  3. God Called the “NOT” Things • God called to Abram, and said he and Sarah would have a son, even though He and Sara were past the age of child bearing. God Spoke and the child that was NOT, was born. • God called Jacob, instead of Esau! Esau was the first born, and should have received the blessing. God spoke and the Blessing that was NOT Jacob’s, was.

  4. God Called the “NOT” things • God called a people of slavery from Egyptian bondage and called them his own. God called the NOT people and it was so! • God promised a land that WAS NOT their own, and the promised land was theirs. God spoke and it was so!

  5. God called the “NOT” things • Luke 3:8 • Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father.” For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

  6. God called the “NOT” things • 1 Peter 2: 9&10 • But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were NOT a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had NOT received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

  7. God Called the “NOT” things • God spoke, and it was so, he is still creating when he speaks. Every time a son is born, someone is added to the kingdom of God. God speaks and those who were not, are born into Gods family. • God calls you and me, the not things, and he can make us new, through our own new birth, into his kingdom.

  8. God is still creating • 2 Cor 5:17 • Therefore if any man is IN CHRIST, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. • God has called the NOT things as though they were. God speaks and so they are. IN CHRIST you can become a new creature, a new beginning, a fresh start. All clean and new!

  9. Born again • To be come new we must be born into the family of God. • John 3:3 • I tell you the truth no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. • 1 Peter 3:20 • Who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently, in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism which now saves you, also ….

  10. Romans 6: 1-6 • What shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us that were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

  11. Romans 6: 1-6 • If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin – because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

  12. God called the NOT things as though they were • God has created a new being, calling the unholy, HOLY! The unclean New and CLEAN! This is a fresh start, all your sins can be forgiven, but you must obey the Gospel, and in deed this is good news! Christ has died so you may live. The Creator of the universe has paid the price of redemption for his creation.. Don’t delay arise and be born again!

  13. May God Bless you in your search for Him, I pray that you will gain much from this study, and learn to love the God that so loved us. • If you have any concerns, questions or just want to make comments, please contact me at: hhowe1212@yahoo.com
