  2. The largest cemetery in Paris. • It is 1186 acres in size. • It houses over 1 million graves

Important Figures • It houses many painters, composers, novelist and many others. • The Famous Irish poet Oscar Wilde is buried here, many fans of his will kiss his grave with lipstick to give it an Art Deco look. • Also buried here is Napoleon's mistress Countess Marie Walewska is partially buried here. Her body is buried in Poland but here heart is buried in Pere Lachaise.

  4. Heritage • It was established in 1804 and was named after Louis XIV, Pere Francois De Lachaise
