  2. When the narrator’s mother learns that the British school in Wuhan closed she enrolls her in the Shanghi American School. We wouldn’t be the MKs or even Ks forever means they wouldn’t always be missionaries children or even children. The narrator likes to turn to her book about Priscilla Alden because she likes to read about another newcomer to America.

  3. 4. The statement “The fighting Chinese warlords have nothing to do with her”. Suggests she does not identify with the people of China. 5.Just before her parents tell her they are going to America she decides to fall in love. 6. In the Shanghi American Schools the students aren’t allowed to dance instead they have to talk to each other. 7.When she first enters the school she doesn’t feel any more American than she had in Wuhan. 8.Her major disappointment in her new school in America was the other students seem ignorant.
