Current WHO EQAP for detection of influenza A by PCR Strengths? • Only currently widely available Q/A WHO System. • Well organized. • Timely Weaknesses? • Timing could be improved to accommodate seasonality. Areas to improve? • Including an influenza virus that is not commonly recognized (H7 and H9). • Build in a challenge to the system (possibly including untypeables).
