Work in partnership with Communities to assess need • Use revolving land bank fund to secure sites and build houses • Use the Rural Housing Burden to ensure the plots or houses remain in the affordable housing market in perpetuity • Utilise our experience of strong partnership working to add value to projects we work on
Work in partnership with local community groups • Assess local needs with household surveys/surgeries • Tackle other community priorities such as unemployment • Identify land for development in rural communities • Promote sustainable and innovative design • Attract external funding to the area • Lobby influential partners

Cairngorms Construction Skills Project • A multi-partner project • Targeting local issues:- Affordable housing shortages Promote sustainable construction opportunities Training and job opportunities for lower income households
Year 1 - build 6 sustainable and affordable homes for sale • 15 trainees per year from the unemployment list • Targeting unemployed trainees that are currently RSL tenants • Liaising with employers to find jobs at end of training • Attracting various funding partners • Employing a full time project officer for 3 years ` • Working towards a sustainable self-funding project for future years
LEADER grant application - Nov 09 • Leader grant approval – Feb 10 • Employ Project Officer – May 10 • Gain detailed planning permission – Jul 10 • Recruit trainees – Aug 10 • Start on site – Sep 10 • Finish on site – Jul 11 • Sell houses & complete training – Jul 11 • Year 2 – It all starts again!
