  1. Why do my drains keep getting blocked? Tips By: DC Merrett

  2. 5 reasons why drains keep getting blocked Are blocked drains a recurring issue of your existence? In this day and age, we depend on flowing water to move through our lives without interruption or delay. So it could put them in the way of your daily routine when they're not performing as they are supposed to. It's even more difficult when you don't know the reason why they're blocked.

  3. Pouring Fats Down Drains Cooking equipment that is easy to use may appear to be harmless while you're cleaning, but the fats can build up in time and lead to obstructions and fatbergs. It's not just that this can cause problems with your drains at home but it may cause serious problems for main sewers also. To avoid the accumulation of fats, make sure you provide your cooking tools with the benefit of a clean, dry cloth prior to washing it or place it into the dishwasher to eliminate the most harmful of it.

  4. Ground coffee Have you ever thought about the fact that even though instant coffee is simple to dissolve, ground coffee is prone to get caught in the crevices and nooks of pipes, causing obstructions? Avoid this issue by placing coffee grounds into the compost bin or in the garbage rather than washing them in the sink.

  5. Hair This one's a little difficult and almost unavoidable while showering, our hair is likely to get deposited in our drains. It can also build up around the plug holes. Incorporating soap in the mix could cause more blockage as well. To prevent this from happening be sure to take the time to clean hair from the hole every after you shower.

  6. Leaves and roots Drains in the outdoors can be clogged by debris and leaves in the event that they are not addressed. The growing of tree roots may affect drains that are free-flowing, make sure you check your outdoor drains regularly and clean the drains.

  7. Flushing Hygiene Items Down The Toilet Nappies, cotton buds baby wipes, and tampons are often being flushed down the drain more often than they need to be. These products regardless of whether they are advertised as flushable or not could cause massive blockages and backups which can cause chaos for your drainage. Buy a bathroom bin for these things to go into instead.
