  1. Technology is growing day by day with us and it has spread its wings to almost every field. It is not only limited to the way we live but it also affects the way we print! Yes you heard it right! Digital printing is the result of advancement in technology which is far superior to the conventional printing in many aspects. Generally, we do not take printing techniques into consideration as printing is printing what to do with its types and all! Right! But no this concept needs to changed as per our requirements printing techniques do vary and we have to choose the right option as per our needs to get better outputs. When printing is concerned there are generally two types of printing are available. Let us take a look at these two printing techniques that will help you choose which technique to use for your future projects: Conventional Offset Printing: Conventional offset printing is a technology that uses plates made of aluminum, which are used to transfer an image onto a rubber called as blanket. Then the image is rolled onto a sheet of paper. The term offset is used because the ink is transferred indirectly onto the paper. When a larger quantity of printing is required with clean accurate color reproduction and professional quality printing this conventional offset printing method is appropriate. Digital Printing: Digital Printing is the newer and advanced printing process that involves various intricate computing techniques that tells the machine to directly create image onto the paper. Unlike conventional offset printing, digital printing doesn’t use plates but instead uses toner, used in laser printers or liquid ink that the larger printers use. Digital printing is best used for lower quantities like printing of 100 flyers or invitation cards etc. Variable data capability makes digital printing a much better option than that of the conventional offset printing.

  2. There are 3 main considerations that help you choose between digital printing and the conventional offset printing and that are quality of printing, turnaround time and price. •Pros of Conventional Offset Printing: •Best quality of printing: Image quality is always better with greater details and color fidelity due to accuracy. •Larger quantities printed for lesser cost •The price per piece lessens with increase in the amount of print •A wide variety of papers with custom finishes can be used •Cons of Conventional Offset Printing: •Difficult to personalize and customize prints •Time consuming •Slower Process •Costly for lower volume prints •Pros of Digital Printing: •Incredibly faster: Ideal for projects with tight deadline •Lower set up costs for short runs •Print as much is required so that no wastage occurs •Variable data capability i.e. names, addresses, codes and numbering done easily. •Improved technology making it viable and more acceptable •Inexpensive black and white digital printing •Cons of Digital Printing: •Color quality and accuracy is somewhat not matching the conventional one •Costly for higher volume prints Both the printing methods are equally useful. The only thing that you need to consider is the requirement of your project. Each printing method has its own advantages and disadvantages. So before making any choice between the two printing methods weighing out the various pros and cons of each process is highly recommended.
