  1. Making DVD cover/Poster Tasks • Photography. • Getting your elements onto your canvas. • Editing the poster/DVD. • Final product and optimisation.

  2. USE YOUR DESIGN Canvas sizes. • DVD outline is on my weebly. • Canvas size use the same as your magazine cover from last year.

  3. Photography 1 lesson Take your images needed for your poster. Remember to take too many images. My advice is Google photography techniques and filet out the relevant information. You will never be a master photographer over night but you can use hints and tips to help your product. http://pixeltango.com/articles/photography-articles/20-useful-photography-techniques-for-snapping-beautiful-pictures/

  4. Getting your elements onto your canvas. 1lesson Use this lesson to layout your elements. Maybe try one or two different layouts until you are Happy. Save a few copies as you progress. When you are happy save your file as a PNG(This keeps layers separate.)

  5. Editing the poster/DVD. 2 lessons What effects can you use? • Brightness • Blur • Drop shadow • Use of layers to focus upon a particular point. • Google editing techniques.

  6. Final product and optimisation. 1 lesson What is optimisation? What are your options? PNG JPEG These are the main two. JPEG is a smaller image which compresses like colours. As your product is for print it will probably be worth keeping it as a PNG despite the huge file size.
