  2. The main idea • The unit talks about lucky people who win the New Jersey Lottery. • Whenever you win such a lottery , you are helping people in New Jersey. Percent of money from tickets goes to programs for education , at-risk teens, college scholarships , and support for the elderly and disabled.

  3. Vocabulary • Split ( verb ) • Evenly ( adverb ) • Hang up (verb) • Betray (verb ) • Break their agreement • ( verb + possessive adjective + noun )) • Greedy ( adjective ) • Hit the jackpot ( verb + the + noun )

  4. Some expressions about money • Money is the root of all evil. • Money talks. • The best things in life are free. • Money doesn’t grow on trees. • A penny saved is a penny earned

  5. Using “should” for advice • We use “should+ the base form of the verb” to give advice to someone. It means “It’s a good idea to do …….” • The verb after should is an infinitive (base form) • E.g :You should read the passage before • answering any of the questions. • He should study hard. • I should get up early.

  6. Negative form of “should+verb”) • We use “not” after “should” to change the sentence into the negative. • E.g: He shouldn’t drive fast. • You shouldn’t annoy your teacher. • I shouldn’t be late for school • They shouldn’t play in the street.

  7. Yes/No questions • Should we come on time ? • Yes, you should.- No, you shouldn’t • Should he take a vacation? • Yes, he should.- No, he shouldn’t • Should you leave your bag here? • Yes, I should. – No, I shouldn’t.

  8. Wh questions • What should you do to get good marks? • Where should I go now ? • Why should he read the book? • When should they come back? • How much should you save a week? • Who should you ask to help? • What should she take with her ?
