  2. Audacity About Audacity • Very easy multi-track editor and recorder. This software can be used to • Record live audio • Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs • Edit numerous types of sound files. • Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together • Change speed or pitch of a recording.

  3. Audacity How can students use Audacity? • Students would be able to most simply record homework assignments. For example: • Orally responding to prompts • Individual reading practice logs • Foreign Language practice • Students are also able to create larger projects that show their content knowledge. This would include • Radio talk show • Poem, Song or Rap

Audacity What does this look like in the classroom? • Transfer of Energy Project • Given the same rubric students were allowed to choose the medium by which they can convey their content knowledge. Among those options is a audio recording! • Students could import, record, mix and edit their radio talk show, interview or oral exam.

  6. Audacity Students recording a radio talk show… • Students would open up the application and when they were ready the could begin recording. Progress will be shown linearly if they make a mistake the can move the cursor back and cut the section they would like to remove. • When the track is completed students can go back an edit their tracks or add effects.
