The Social Web • “The Social Web is an ecosystem of participation, where value is created by the aggregation of many individual user contributions.” • “We now have millions of humans offering their knowledge online, which means that the information is stored, searchable, and easily shared.” (Gruber, 2007)

edonis (educators online impact study) will run for at least three years, identifying, for example:• Trends in educators’ use of Web 2.0 tools• impact on teaching and learning, and professional development• good practice• implications for the learning sector and government. How are those learning professionals participating in the edonis project using the social web for professional development and to enhance teaching and learning? How are professionals in the edonis project dealing with the new spaces, relationships and data in their PLN?
