1. Zapping Polly - The first track on the record, Zapping Polly has a fantastic rhythmic feel that is great to listen to while driving. Rob Self's voice over the hook is excellent as well, and the rhythm and the sounds around it are a real treat. It's an upbeat and rocking track with Rob Self's voice and acoustic guitar playing. Robotic Noise- An easy sounding track monitor that determines the basic framework for what the record is all about. A drum beat in the background with a fundamental guitar tune together with a bass line that matches with the drummer makes this among the more basic tracks that the album has to offer. This isn't too typical in Flaming Lips work, but it will fit in well for a simplistic sounding record. The track has some fantastic sounds and elements to it, and a simple loop with great timing could be heard all across the album. I'm Leaving You- Some of the more creative tracks on the record, this one is another enjoyable ride that builds the mood and atmosphere to get your album. Rob Self sings and plays a great deal of guitar and synth in this one, and the electric guitar solo is a really different feel than usual. The record is well-known for its focus on intriguing instrumental performances and extensive use of sound effects, which are among the most distinguishing features of this album. Headphones- Another tune that features Rob Self and Fenton on vocals, also contains some interesting elements to it. Some great drums, electric guitar, and a wonderful pop influenced guitar riff. There's a wonderful feel to this one also, however there are a number of unexpected parts to it. Better For Me Than Pop - This is another instrumental track that is a little more catchy and fun than others on the record. Rob Self sings with this one and contains some cool vocal rhythms, particularly at the conclusion of the song. The backing vocals are also great with this track. The lyrics aren't very original, but they do the job. Chupacabra Theme (featuring Rob Self) - This motif makes use of additional Flaming Lips worthy bits to create an ambient piece that makes use of a simple drum beat, and contains samples of a hum or buzz. It also makes use of different synths and a piano that's used to create a wonderful backdrop for Rob Self's vocals. The tune and vocals are extremely appropriate to what the Flaming Lips want to perform. Paradise Garage- This track is an excellent intro to the album and goes straight into the"Paradise Garage" radio drama that accompanies the album. Rob Self plays and sings acoustic guitar, also takes center stage to supply the whole chorus, that's the most popular part of the track. In addition, it has some fantastic backing vocals which are pretty hard to overlook. Rob Self also throws in a few interesting, and unique, rhythms throughout the chorus that appears out of place, but function in the context of the tune.
