STAGE 1 • ONLINE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: • be at least 18 years of age • have the unrestricted right to live and work in the EEA or Switzerland* • hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above including maths, science and English language • be able to demonstrate that you have successfully completed secondary or high school education (or equivalent) • be fluent in English (verbal and written)** • produce a CRC (criminal record check) Basic Disclosure Certificate before training can commence • minimum height 5'2" (157.48cm) , maximum height 6'5" (195.58cm) • Be able to obtain an EASA Class 1 medical without restrictions

  5. STAGE 2/3 SELECTION DAY • APTITUDE & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, multi-tasking, numerical reasoning. • INTERVIEW Demonstrate interest/ work experience/ research

THE CTC COURSE • ATPL GROUND SCHOOL – SOUTHAMPTON - 5 MONTHS • SINGLE & MULTI-ENGINE FLIGHT TRAINING (CPL) – HAMILTON (NEW ZEALAND) – 8 MONTHS • INSTRUMENT RATING – BOURNEMOUTH – 2 MONTHS • AQC COURSE (SIMULATOR TRAINING) – SOUTHAMPTON – 3 WEEKS • TYPE RATING – SOUTHAMPTON • BASE TRAINING – 1 DAY • LINE TRAINING – 6-8 MONTHS

  7. FINANCE • SECURITY BOND - £69,000 • MEDICAL - £350 • NEW ZEALAND TRAINING – £18,500 • LIVING EXPENSES - £5000 per year • BBVA – assisted loan scheme

THE JOB • SALARY: • Low cost (Ryanair, Easyjet) – zero hours contract • Regional (Flybe) - £20,000 per year (fist officer) • BA, Virgin, Thompson etc - £45,000 - £70,000 per year (first officer) , £80,000 - £110,000 per year (captain) • Hours: maximum 30 hours a week, 900 hours a year • Short Haul – 4-5 days on, 3 days off • Long Haul – 2-3 day trip, 3 days off – up to 5 trips per month
