Fruity Banana Smoothie • 6-8 oz plain yogurt • 1⁄2 banana • 1 cup of frozen fruit (usually strawberries, blueberries , pineapple or mango) • 4-5 oz milk • a dash of vanilla • 1 teaspoon of honey Directions: Place in blender container and blend until smooth. Pour evenly into cups.
Breakfast Smoothie Recipe • 1/2 cup orange juice • 1 banana • 6-7 frozen strawberries • 4-5 slices frozen peaches • 5-6 frozen blueberries • 6-7 ice cubes • dash of nutmeg (optional) • 1 tsp. honey (optional) Directions: • Place all ingredients except ice cubes in blender. Puree until smooth. Add ice, and puree again. • Pour evenly into cups and sprinkle nutmeg on top.
Sunny Tropical Fruit Smoothies • 1 – (15 1/2 oz) can tropical fruit salad • 1 – (11 oz) can mandarin oranges • 1 container vanilla or pineapple low-fat yogurt • ¾ Cup 2% Milk • Directions: • Drain liquid from canned fruit. (Use a colander in the sink) • Put canned fruit into blender container. • Add milk and yogurt to blender. • Cover blender with the lid and blend on high speed until mixture is smooth. • Pour evenly into cups.
STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE RECIPE • 1 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt – or any fruit flavor • ½ cup frozen strawberries • ½ cup skim milk • 1 banana, sliced • Directions • Slice banana • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. • Pour into cups, evenly.
