Your diploma exam begins in 3 months… Are you ready for it?
Today we will begin practicing for the essay portion of your final. -You will be analyzing an essay question which actually appeared on a diploma exam. • You will be brainstorming for a critical/analytical essay in which you will write about a one of the readings you have covered this term. • You will outline this essay and begin your rough draft.
Diploma essay questions all share a similar structure. • They are not specific to a particular piece of literature. You will need to know the works you have covered this term and know them very well. (Therefore you can and should study for the diploma) • You should have the names (and spellings) of the author’s and the titles of the works you have studies memorized. You should also memorize the names and spellings of the characters and places in the works as well. • They will ask you a very specific question in a very vague way. • If you learn to dismantle and analyze these questions in a systematic way, your diploma will be much easier.
Your assignment… Discuss the idea(s) developed by the text creator in your chosen text about the interplay between fear and foresight when individuals make life-altering choices.
